Start of the week report and things are going well up approx 10 buy ins on the week form y hu sng's running really good. i did have a brutal session on stars this evening playing 9 man sng's. played 4 tables cashed in one and got sucked out on in the other 3 more then one time. i recall my worst beat as i had ak in the button utg+2 raises to 3x the bb i reraised 3.5x the original raise he tankes for 11 seconds then shoves for most of my stack. keeping in mind this guy has raised 4 of the last 10 hands and showed down a k8 o from lp. i put him on a range of 10-j suited+ any pocket pair and any ace. i call this bet as i am at the top of my range and i am a big favorite against most of his range. he tables 97 offsuit. i know wtf is that. how can u 5 bet me with 97 off. how can he shove that did he really think i was folding. of course he hits the 9 and i am crippled. i felt good about the call and i knew i was ahead and if i win the hand i go onto cash and probably win.
i had a hu match from earlier this week that was so unbelievable that i have to relive it just for a second. i was dominating this 5.50 hu match on ultimate bet. turbo with 1500 stacks. i very quickly get the stacks to 2k-1k in my favor. i didn't play any big pots at this point as he was letting me min raise my button and folding 90% of the time. and flops we did see i would pick up for a 1/2 bet on flop or turn. we didnt play down a hand until he raised from the button for 3x the bb i 3 bet him 3x the original raise and he shoves for approx 800 total. i call with jj he tables a7. the flop comes 772. no help on turn or river and we are back to even. this happened 2 more times as i grind him down to 600-700 chips we get it all in and i am a big favorite and he hits to win. the final hand that crippled me i had ak from the button min raised it he calls flop come a109 2 hearts. i shove as any bet he is pot committed so i thought if he gets it in i am in good shop with top pair top kick. i figure him for a 10 or a draw. he calls shows 10 8 with the 8 being a heart the turn and river both hearts and i am done. runner runner flush ouch. again felt good about the move but variance jammed its ugly head in the way.
so now that i have my frustration out with my bad beats stories and hand reviews i wanted to weigh in on the ladies event at the wsop-world series of poker. mr shaun deeb who is an online phenom who has a ton of mtt cashes and great live results thinks its a great idea to enter into the ladies only event at the wsop in drag with the help of a few friends. now douche bag does go on the record as saying this is for gender equality and would donate 25% of his winnings if he won. no he did get some support but there were alot of upset people. shaun crys fowl about the harrah's and wsop staff giving him a hard time about entering in the event and yes shaun is right there is no rule against men playing but i mean come on. they didn't write a rule because they didn't think someone was dumb enough to play the event when they aren't a women. i look at the pga tour the atp tennis tour,hockey,basketball they all have women's divisions and sometime seniors event. look at the standard in sports and men and women are not created equal. in terms of poker yes it is a mental skill game and all events are open to everyone but in the hope to keep tradition and make the game fun for the different gender and age groups they made senoirs and women events. the argument of equality is ridiculous i mean there is over 50 events on the card and all but 4 the ladies,seniors,casino employees,and the tourney of champs. women and seniors can compete in all of them but to find out if they are the best women or best senior these special events are ideal for them. the most prestigious stat for women coming out of the wsop is the last lady standing in the main event and the ladies who won the ladies event. shauns feeble attempts to hide behind equality do not hold water. if he was so worried about it how could he wear drag to the event even if he lost a prop bet. u are insulting the exact people u are trying to support its a total slap in the face to them. then u decide to only donate 25% of your winnings and give the bracelet to the runner up. i mean come on 25% is so weak he should be giving it all to a charity or to all the ladies who didnt cash as he took the spot of at least 1 money winner not to mention all the other guys he convinced to enter. i hope the wsop suspends this clown for the tourney for making a mockery of this showcase of poker.
here we are as an industry trying to legalize poker in the us and then we have some ass hat playing in drag in the women's event at the pinnacle of poker the wsop. hey congress we are a legit industry and can police ourselves. look at what we have trying to represent us. we need to band together and put this douche where he belongs out of the wsop at least for this year. this year being one of the most important years for poker coming out of the recession and the uiega coming into effect.
i can see trying to get some attention and marker yourself but you should be doing that on your accomplishments and your personality not on being an ass clown and crying for attention. back in grade school we used to kick the shit out of people like this.
